Nishtha Satyam

Nishtha brings extensive experience in advising Boards and Senior Management Teams on organizational approaches to establish strategic partnerships and institutional engagement with traditional and non-traditional allies, positioning the organization as a thought leader on key policy issues. Her current role at the United Nations (UN) principally focuses on developing and implementing strategies aimed at securing a diversified partnership portfolio and building a community of commitment leading to sustained support for the organization, both financial and non-financial. At the UN Women Multi Country office in India that also services Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bhutan, Nishtha is responsible for spearheading and executing the strategy for building innovative, strategic and technical partnerships with the Government of India, both Centre and State, the Private Sector and Foundations. Prior to this, Nishtha has served the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office (UNRC) as an advisor on partnerships with the Private Sector through well-designed, multi-stakeholder platforms that address shared goals covering business’s role in development, including the MDGs and SDGs, ethics and governance, democratization of the ICT arena, impact of ICT on development and the impact of the regulatory and policy environment on businesses. Her competencies include advising and informing organizations of approaches to leverage CSR, building inclusive business models, consensus building and developing multi-stakeholder policy advocacy models.

Prior to her career with UN, she has spent about a decade working with the Private Sector with leading firms such as KPMG, The Corporate Executive Board and American Express as an economist.

Nishtha has authored many articles on the business value of diversity and balanced leadership and was the key author of the WILL-KPMG reports on the value of balanced leadership to the business performance of a firm. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Business from the University of Nottingham, UK and a Bachelors in Economics from Delhi University.
